Yes, at the City Hall!

Hello! We hope you’ve been having a great summer, looking at the weather there more to come. We’ve got some exciting news for you. Newcastle Theatre Royal Trust took over the running of Newcastle’s City Hall recently and decided it was time to breathe new life into the Concert Bar. Simma has taken the reigns for a monthly show he hopes will become a regular event. This month Simma has assembled his “Cellar Boys” for a full band performance of his own original songs including those from his recent album Lychnobite. Simma will be joined by more local talent to make this a musical extravaganza. On the bill on Thursday, 8th September, are Kate Wedgwood, Bernie Christie, duo Underwood and This Ground Moves guitarist and songwriter Stephen Cochrane. With entry to the gig only £5 this promises to be a superb value evening of entertainment. It is hoped this will catalise a new era for the Concert Bar, putting it firmly on Newcastle’s cultural map.

This time, it’s a pay on the door event but for future events we hope to introduce online ticketing…this has taken some organising and we hope you have a great time!

Don’t forget you can catch Simma at his buskers and open mic events too:
